The good causes Chrissie’s Sunshine Appeal supports

Below are all the charities and causes close to Chrissie’s heart, which she chose to support with the appeal.

Many thanks for Newquay Towan Blystra Lions, who a registered charity (1134660) have agreed to facilitate the collection of donations for the appeal. They will ringfence the money and then distribute it to all the causes as requested by Chrissie.

The Cove Macmillan

“I have been overwhelmed by the amazing support from The Cove Macmillian at Treliske. They are there for you when you receive shocking news and your world is in turmoil.

“The times I have been there a private room was offered when needed – such a wonderful thing to be able to have some time to gather your thoughts when you are upset and in shock.

“The support from the staff is amazing they give you some magic with their kindness on a dark day! The practical support provided is mind blowing from dietician, citizens advice Macmillan as all of a sudden you are faced with having no income, physiotherapy, pamper sessions and much more.

“They currently have a four month waiting list for counselling services they need help raise more funds to support the centre.”

Newquay RNLI

Newquay RNLI because sailing has been a big part of my life. Being out on the ocean I could have potentially been rescued a number of times. I have also followed the lifeboatmen’s bravery as the Newquay Voice photographer for 16 years and saw what a great job they do.

Bodmin Moorland Pony Rehabilitation

“There is nothing like a relationship with a horse – the love and joy I have had with my beautiful Tully and then Tweet over the years has to have been some of the most wonderful moments that I will treasure forever.”
“To be able to give something back to the equine community would be amazing.”

RCHT Cove Amenity Fund

This appeal is to go towards helping provide outdoor seating for patients like myself and visitors to be able to enjoy the fresh air and ‘Hold your face to the sun and let the shadows fall behind you’.

Sally’s Cat Rescue

“I have been lucky enough all my life to have cats as pets, they have to be one of the most beautiful, clever creatures I have ever come across.

“Over the last 2 years I have had the ‘privilege’ to have a wonderful feral cat adopt me, move in and share his life with me – my Dennis.

“I would like to fundraise for a local cat rescue that helps rescue and re-home abandoned, abused, homeless, pregnant cats and kittens, Sally’s Cat Rescue based in St Austell, Cornwall.”

Newquay Towan Blystra Lions

Newquay Towan Blystra Lions is a group of people who have come together for one reason – to serve Newquay and it’s surrounding communities and offering support.

The club are here to serve, in any way they can and welcome requests for assistance from any individual or group that requires it. Lions don’t just serve by awarding financial grants, although this is a large part of what they do.

Sunrise Appeal

The suns rays (of my logo) are for the Sunrise Appeal which provides help even in the form of an app on your phone that you can refer to as a cancer patient.

It is a valuable resource to be able to use, which is why I want to support them. … of the many reasons I want to support them.

Prickles and Paws

I want to support the amazing work of this charity. The number of hedgehogs is in decline and the support Prickles and Paws offer is helping save their lives.
I have taken injured hedgehogs to them over my years in Newquay and seem their dedication to wildlife first hand. They even love recycling newspapers!
