Chrissie is delighted to announce that the Appeal will now also be raising funds for Refuge4Pets.

Refuge4Pets provides a pet fostering service across Cornwall, Devon and Somerset to victims/survivors of domestic violence and abuse so they can leave abusive and violent relationships with their much-loved pets.

However, often individuals and families escaping these relationships are unable to take their animals with them, as the refuge or temporary accommodation does not allow pets. In many cases, this will stop people from leaving.

The charity fosters dogs, cats, horses, birds, reptiles, rabbits and other pets such as guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils and fish – they will foster any animal (even livestock and exotics) as long as they have a suitable foster home, for up to 6 months and provide everything the animals need whilst they’re in foster care, including any veterinary treatment and medicines required.

Chrissie said: “Refuge4Pets is an incredible charity that do such vital work to help victims and survivors of domestic abuse. Animals and pets are members of the family and it’s heartwarming to know this charity have provisions in place to care for people’s best friends until it’s safe for them to be reunited.”
