Chrissie’s Sunshine Party is back – Wednesday 21st September 2022!

Newquay Towan Blystra Lions are absolutely delighted to announce that, once again, Cornwall’s own magnificently funny and musically talented JOHNNY COWLING, is joining us for a special one-night evening of comedy and music in the Beer Festival Marquee at Hendra Holiday Park.

The whole evening is a charity affair supporting the range of charities so close to the heart of the late CHRISSIE JACKSON who left us far too soon in 2021.

There will be an opportunity to view and savour a few of the beers and ciders which will be on offer at Newquay Beer Festival plus Chrissie’s Sunshine Gin and Fizz Bar will be as popular as ever. There will be low and zero alcohol drinks also available.

The Newquay Beer Festival starts on Friday 23 September you can buy tickets for it HERE.

And…. if you would like to stay for the Wednesday night at Hendra in your tent, motorhome or caravan then you can do so at special rates by just ringing Hendra on 01637 875778 and quote code: BF22.

Whilst there is no age limit to this event, the recommended age is 16+

We are heartbroken to announce that our beautiful Chrissie passed away in the early hours of Tuesday 20th July 2021. Please click here to read the statement from her family here.

Chrissie Jackson was a very familiar face in Newquay – as the co-founder of the Newquay Voice, photographer and sailor.

In 2019, Chrissie was given the devastating news that she had stage 4 cancer. There was no cure, purely prolonging her life for as long as they could. But this didn’t mean that she was just going to sit back and giving up. Quite the opposite.

Over the last two years, along with support from friends (old and new), family and supporters around the globe Chrissie made it her mission to support those in similar positions, shine a light on the amazing charities and causes close to her heart through Chrissie’s Sunshine Appeal.

From ‘Chemo in Cool Places’, to fundraising events with her beloved clipper crews and friends in Newquay – there’s so many stories to tell, and we hope that this website and the Facebook page will inspire and remember our beloved daughter, sister, aunty and friend.

In memory of our dear friend, Chrissie.

Tributes are being paid to a much-loved Newquay woman who inspired people across the world. Chrissie Jackson passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 20 after being diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic cancer in January 2019. Determined to make the most of every day, she...
